About Handi
Why Handi
Most Pakistani recipes online are videos, or pages buried in ads, in one language only, with measures nobody in Pakistan uses. Handi is a fast, clean library of home recipes in both Urdu and English, measured in cups, chamach and pao, with a timer on every step and the tools a family kitchen needs: a weekly menu, a shopping list and a way to cook from what is already in the fridge.
How the recipes are written
All 167 recipes are original, written for Handi from Pakistani home-cooking knowledge: no text, recipes or photos are copied from other sites, books or videos. Each one is checked for quantities, times, heat and step order before it goes up, and for an Urdu version that says exactly what the English says. Where families cook a dish differently, the recipe picks one clear version and mentions the others.
