Questions

Is Handi free?

Yes. Every recipe, the meal planner, the shopping list and "What can I cook?" are free, with no sign-up. The site may show clearly marked ads in future to pay for itself.

Are the recipes in Urdu?

Every recipe has a full Urdu page (same quantities, steps and timers) and an English page. Switch with the اردو / English button at the top.

Can I use cups and spoons instead of grams?

Yes. Recipes show cups, chai ka chamach, khane ka chamach, pao and kilo by default; switch to grams and ml with one tap. The servings scaler adjusts everything.

Where do the cost estimates come from?

From the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics weekly Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), which publishes average prices of meat, flour, rice, daal, oil, milk, eggs, onions, tomatoes and more in 17 cities. Items it does not cover are left out, so the figure is labelled an estimate.

Are these recipes copied from somewhere?

No. Every recipe is written for Handi from home-cooking knowledge, and every illustration is drawn for the site. Nothing is copied from other sites, books or videos.
